Requisitions

Requisitions are the clinical work behind your calendar. Portal → Requisitions gives you a board where every order you are working sits in a column, from the moment the order reaches you to the day results come back. It is your own record-keeping. You order and deliver the way you already do, and this keeps an honest account of where each specimen is.

Six columns, left to right:

  1. Ordered: order received, not yet booked.
  2. Scheduled: draw appointment booked.
  3. Collected: specimen drawn.
  4. At lab: dropped at the lab.
  5. Resulted: results back from the lab.
  6. Completed: closed out.

Each card carries the patient’s name, the ordering provider, the lab, how many tests are on the order, and a fasting flag when one applies. One button on the card moves it to the next column. That is the whole point, so you can advance a draw one-handed standing at your car. Counters above the board show how many orders are open and how many are STAT. Canceled orders tuck themselves away behind a link at the bottom.

Choose New requisition. Pick the patient from your client list and their name fills in, or type a name for someone you haven’t saved. Then record the date of birth, the ordering provider and their phone, the lab (tap one of the common ones or type your own), and the tests or panels separated by commas. Set the priority to Routine, STAT, or Timed, tick the box if the patient has to fast, and use notes for whatever the next you needs to know: hard stick, use butterfly, left arm only.

Tap a card to open it. From there you can jump straight to any stage, save the accession number the lab assigns, edit the details, cancel the order, or delete it outright. Collection, drop-off, and result dates are stamped as you move it along, so the history is there when somebody asks when a specimen actually left your hands.
